After a long time I got an opportunity to visit some Asian country to attend an official meeting.
I was to
visit Bali – Indonesia. As there was no direct flight for BALI from India, we
got the ticket booked with “Malaysian Airlines” from Delhi to KL & then KL
to BALI.
Our journey
started on March, 2014 at 11.00 PM from Delhi Airport. We reached KL at 7.00
AM as per Malaysian time. There is approx.
2 hrs gap between the connecting flight for Bali.
We reached Ngurah
Rai International Airport- Bali also
known as Denpasar International
Airport 12.30 PM as per Indonesian Time.
There is a facility of on arrival visa which can be obtained @25 USD and it does
not take much time to get it made. The formalities required to get the visa is also hassle-free.One needs to show his Passport , return ticket , hotel booking proof
, one form to be filled & no photo is required.
Bali Airport
is adjacent to the sea which you can see while landing or taking-off. It was an
amazing experience for me.
After completing
the necessary formalities we came out of the Airport where we were received by
the hotel staff. We boarded the hotel car and left for Hotel Intercontinental-
Bali.
Within half
an hour we reached the hotel and checked in.We relaxed for some time ,had our
lunch and left for sightseeing.
Bali, the famed Island of the Gods, with
its varied landscape of hills and mountains, beaches , temples & volcanoes.
Bali is only Hindu Island in the Muslim dominated country. It is one of the top 10 Asian islands.
Bali is
famous for its beautiful rice fields, beaches, Handicrafts, temples &
Volcanoes. Balinese massages are worldwide famous.
The people
of Bali have a strong belief in religion. One can see temples in every few
steps. As I eagerly wanted to know about the secret and the importance of these
countless temples our cab driver had been the great source of information to
satisfy my curiosity about these temples. He informed that there is a family
temple & a village temple for everyone which is not opened for all. Except
these temples visitors can go to any temple and offer their prayers. There are the
temples for animals and rice too then I got the reason of having so many
temples in that place.
Outside every house and shop a stone made throne shape structure is there where people place a basket used for offering prayer known as canang sari which is made of coconuts leafs which is filled with fruits, biscuit, rice, chicken, money and surprisingly cigarette too.
Our driver was
very nice to us as he informed us each and everything about Bali throughout our
visit.During conversation we got to know that they like Indians very much &
are very fond of Indian movies despite they don’t understand Hindi language. He
sang some Hindi songs also while driving and asked us the meaning of those
lyrics.
In my next coming post I would take you to some of the
interesting worth visiting sights of BALI.
Beautiful place. Well taken frames.

Sailors & traders from Odisha or Kalinga as it ws then known used 2 sail to Bali, get products from Bali & sell here! Our Kalinga crafts & products were also in high demand in Bali! Bali Yatra is among biggest fairs in Eastern India even today, held during November after Kartik Purnima!
