Tehri dam , harnessing the waters of two important Himalayan rivers – Bhagirathi and Bhilangana. It has a height of 855 feet, making it the 5th tallest dam in the world. The Tehri dam has witnessed continuous questioning and protest by various people, including the noted environmentalist Sunderlal Bahuguna. The relocation of more than 100,000 people from the area has led to protracted legal battles over resettlement rights, and ultimately resulted in the project’s delayed completion. In the below photograhs we can see the damaged houses.

It will be over killing if I write too much on it , photographs are self explanatory.

  4. Hey Mahesh, We were there last year but didn't get entry because we didn't have permissions. One of the person in group was not well, so we skip going to the office for permissions. How did you manage to enter?
